Long Overdue Update

Hi everyone. No news is good news. That is sort of what I have been believing as it relates to this blog. There hasn't been much to report lately. That to me is a good thing.
With that being said, sometimes no news is not best. I created this blog to communicate and I was not doing so. That isn't fair to those who check this blog. So here is an update.
All scans are still good with little change. I just had a CT scan in January and met with my doctor today. He said there was a 'nodule' that had increased in size. It could be indicative that the current medication is waning in effectiveness, which is what he believes is likely since I have been on this medication for 1 year. He discussed a couple of other treatments with one being his preferred method and it is a combo of chemo and targeted therapy. We are not doing that yet. He was just offering up the options.
Right now, he is scheduling a PET scan in a few weeks to see how we are doing overall. This is the scan that indicates where there is likely cancer in the body. It is the primary way they check for metastasis. I had one almost a year ago, so it makes sense to get another and see how we're doing.

In terms of my own treatment, diet, and supplements, there are a few updates. A slightly funny story: my weight had gotten down to about 197lbs. then it started slowly going up. I couldn't figure out why because nothing had really changed. Then I examined my morning routine. I normally drink 1-2 cups of coffee. I usually put heavy cream and some keto sweetener. The issue was that I wasn't measuring the quantities and being very strict about it. I was just dumping cream in there and being quite liberal with the sweetener. I'm supposed to be fasting in the morning (intermittent fasting), but all of these calories were certainly interfering. I made this tiny change of limiting the cream and sweetener. The scale started to go down. That is how sensitive I am to my diet now. I view that as a positive.
I have added a couple of supplements into my arsenal, namely Boswellia Serrata and Cordyceps Militaris. These two supplements have shown strong anti-cancer effects. Cordyceps has much more clinical data than Boswellia, but both are quite safe and well-tolerated.
I am making some adjustments to my diet as well in advance of the PET scan. I will be ensuring that I am fasting from approximately 8pm to 12noon the next day. Also, I will be fasting all day Saturdays and Sundays. There are many studies extolling the virtues of fasting for health, fighting cancer, and even fighting aging. Some studies even show that such fasting can enhance the benefits of my existing medications.
I will endeavor to provide more frequent updates. Thanks for being here.
